Clan Little is a Scottish clan of the Borders. The clan does not currently have a chief and is therefore considered an armigerous clan. The Clan Little Society has a Guardian in place of a clan chief.

Origins

According to Black, this is a descriptive name meaning 'small'. <ref>George Way of Plean and Rommily Squire, Scottish Clan and Family Encyclopedia, 413</ref>In Latin documents it appears as 'Parvus'.<ref>Plean, Squire, Encyclopedia, 413</ref> Because it is a descriptive name a certain origin is impossible.<ref>Plean, Squire, Encyclopedia, 413</ref>

Hugo Parvus was clerk to William the Lion prior to 1214.<ref>Plean, Squire, Encyclopedia, 413</ref>
